SQsim: A Simulator for Imprecise ODE Models

چکیده
This article describes a method for representing and simulating Ordinary Di erential Equation (ODE) systems which are imprecise { that is, where the ODE model contains both parametric and functional uncertainty. Such models, while useful in engineering tasks such as design and hazard analysis, are not used in practice because they require either special structures which limit the describable uncertainty or produce predictions which are extremely weak. This article describes SQsim (for SemiQuantitative SIMulator), a system which provides a general language for representing and reasoning about many common forms of engineering uncertainty. By de ning the model both qualitatively and quantitatively and This work has taken place in the Qualitative Reasoning Group at the Arti cial Intelligence Laboratory, The University of Texas at Austin. Please see the Note at the end of the paper. by using a simulation method that combines inferences across the qualitative-to-quantitative spectrum, SQsim produces predictions that maintain a precision consistent with the model imprecision.

System identi cation takes a space of possible models and a stream of observational data of a physical system, and attempts to identify the element of the model space that best describes the observed system. In traditional approaches, the model space is speci ed by a parameterized di erential equation, and identi cation selects numerical parameter values so that simulation of the model best mat...

It is generally accepted that Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a method for indicating efficiency. The DEA method has many applications in the field of calculating the relative efficiency of Decision Making Units (DMU) in explicit input-output environments. Regarding imprecise data, several definitions of efficiency can be found. The aim of our work is showing an equivalence relation between ...

In this paper imprecise target models has been proposed to investigate the relation between imprecise data envelopment analysis (IDEA) and mini-max reference point formulations. Through these models, the decision makers' preferences are involved in interactive trade-off analysis procedures in multiple objective linear programming with imprecise data. In addition, the gradient projection type...
متن کاملThe Efficiency of MSBM Model with Imprecise Data (Interval)
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a mathematical programming-based approach for evaluates the relative efficiency of a set of DMUs (Decision Making Units). The relative efficiency of a DMU is the result of comparing the inputs and outputs of the DMU and those of other DMUs in the PPS (Production Possibility Set). Also, in Data Envelopment Analysis various models have been developed in order to...
